A Government Gazette was issued on Saturday, the contents of which are ot so permanently important a character that—although the substance of most ot them has already been laid before our readers—we are induced to transfer nearly the whole, in extenso , lo our columns. Such is the length of the documents that, in order lo accomplish this we publish a Supplement. The first document is the Proclamation declaring the details of the arrangements for bringing into operation the representation system granted by the new Constitution Act, comprising the division of the Colony into electoral districts, the numbers of Members for the Councils, the regulations respecting the registration of voters, the mode of conducting the elections, &c. The next is the Proclamation declaring the full particulars of the New Land Regulations. Wc inserted this before, but the number in which it appeared being out of print and still enquired for, we now republish it.
The third document is an Order in Council prescribing regulations for the management of “ Passengers Ships.” The next in the Gazette is Sailing directions for Mercury Ray, Ahaipara Ray, and Tauranga Harbour, drawn up by Captain Drury of If. M. S. Pandora. We arc obliged, however, to defer till our next issue the insertion of ibis portion of the contents.
We copy olso a notice of a Land Sale to lake place at Auckland on the 14lh of June, when in addition to seven lots at llowick, a number of “ Surveyed Lots for which there was more than one application on the 1 Gtli of May last” will be put up to Auction. These lots consist of eleven lots at Waiuku and one at Opahoke, all of which will be put up at the reduced price of ten shillings per acre.
