MELBOURNE COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE.
At an auction sale, yesterday, March 31, on the Queen's Wharf, Pressed Hay, sold at £24 10s., £Qb and £25 10s., per ton, for a superior sample. Oats ; good quality 19s. per bushel. Cracked maize from 18s. to IBs.(id. per bushel. John T. Charlton sold on the Queen's Wharf yesterday, V. D. L. pressed hay, at A'il 10s. por ton ; oats, at 19s.per hushel. E. Gilberd & Co. sold yesterday, April 3, at the V'ce toria Mart V. D."L. apples 20s. per bushel; onions 4d. per lb.; potatoes j£LB per ton; Oxonians, 10s. to 12s, per pair. The schooner Emma, recently arrived froic the Cape, has been sold privately for £llOO. The barque, Cynthia, has been purchased privately by Messrs. Raleigb, Locke, Thorpe, and Co., for the sum oi £I6OO cash. Hay Market. —Saturday, April 2nd. There has not been such a largo quainity offered for sale as on the previous week. About 130 loads have arrived, which have gone off at last week's prices, viz., from £2B to £3O per ton. It is contemplated that the price will, in course of a few weeks, reach £4O per ton, owing to the scarcity, and the large quantities arriving in town from a distance which the winter weather would prevent. Van Dieman's Land Hay is worth by auction at from£2'i to £26 pe* ton. J. A. Hay sold by public auction, on Saturday last, at the Queen's Wharf, potatoes from ,£l6 to £lB per ton. K. M, Martin & Co. sold yesterday April 4, at their rooms, flour, American, o~s. (sd. per barrel; cheese, Is. 3d. per lb. ; hams, Is. 4d. per lb. ; rai.Mus, 7d. and Bd. per lb.; salad oil, 15s. per dozen ; mustard, lis. per dozen; starch, 6d. per lb.; horsehair, Is. 4d, per lb.; candles, Allen's 7d. per lb.; port wine, 30s. per dozen ; iron bedsteads, £ C J each ; Cavendish tobacco, in bond, 9d, per lb.; Cape wine, Pontuc, Bs. per gallon; brandy, in bond, lis. per gallon.

Grain, Floor, and Pbovender MAnKET.—Company's Mills, Thursday, March 24. Fine flour £'27 per ton ; seconds ditto, £'2s ; bran '2s. 3d. per bushel; pollard '2s. 3d. per ditto ; wheat 9s. 3d. to 9s. 6'd. Wheat has risen rapidly during the last fortnight, but the market has evidently a downward tendency, a fall of from 3d. to 6'd. a_ bushel having takeu place during the last two days. Hind.marsh Steam Mills, Thursday, March 24. Flour, £27 per ton ; bran and [pollard, 2s. 3d. per bushel; wheat, a large quantity received during the week at prices varying from 9s. 3d. to l Js. 9d. per bushel.
