Forage and Grain.— Hay Market. — Hay, from £lO to £l4 per ton; straw, from £3 to £4 10s.; wheat, from Bs. to Bs. (id. per_bushel ; oats, ss. 6J. Maize is very scarce. Weekly Trade Report. Wo have had a very brisk trade during the past week, and our business transactions have been to a large amount. The arrivals have been few, and consist of the Woolloomooloo and Trafalgar, from London, mid William Piowse, from Bengal. The quantity of goods arrived from London is by no means great, and purchases have been readily made at an advance upon previous quotations. The continued demand for the southern markets has not only completely drained importers, hut the retail trade also, and there is now great difficulty in replenishing stocks; indeed, this is shown by the extreme high rates obtained at every public sale of consumable goods. Teas— Maintain previous rates, and the present small stocks fully justify an advance. Hysonskin, best quality, 87s. Gd. to 90s. per chest; Congou, ditto, 80s. At public sale, damaged teas realised these rates, A recent importation of Hysonskin, per Anna, was taken at about 80s. per dies'. Sugar.— Manila sugars have suffered a decline in price and sales of Pampanga have been made at from £lB 10s. to £l9 10s. per ton. A large quantity ofiered at public sale was withdrawn, the trade not being disposed to purchase. The demand is chiefly for fine counter sugars, Java and Mauritius. Spirits.— During the earlier part of the week, purchases of Martel]'* brandy were made in quantity at 12s. per gallon, it is now difficult to procure at 14s. to 15s. per gallon, and every probability of a further advance in price. B.P. Rum, 10 O.P. is held at 3s. 3d. to 3s, Gd. ; 30 Q.P., 35.6i1. to 3s, 9d. BtEn In wood is in great demand, and eagerly purchased as arrivals come to hand. The.e is none in

importers’ hands, and can only be the trade at extravagant rates. , 0 , ’ A ’ and porter i. saleable at Ms. 10 IS.. ■lo«n. A parcel, ex Trafalgar, to land, was taken at \V ln fs.-There is a large demand for red and white wines, for the neighbouring colonies, and several purchases have been made for exportation. ,1 00 lower qualities are chiefly enquired for. Tig A rs -A slight panic was exhibited by several holders w the early part of .he weeh, by reason of a large quantity being offered at auction, and sales were made at a reduction upon former rates. Laf£ e purchases have been made for exportation, and this has considerably relieved our market. Jue quan-, *tity export' d from the Ist to the 25th instant, with the quantity known to be purchased for exportation, amounts to 380 cases, and the remaining stock in bond is held by parties who are not disposed to realise at present prices. Should no further arrivals take place in quantity, there u no doubt that prices will gradually advance. Tobacco- Mas been enquired for during the week, and sales have been made of Barret’s Twist at Is. ICd. to 2s. per lb., Kerr’s Is. 2d. to Is. 3d. Holders are not anxious to realise at these rates. _ Oilman's Stores.-Have been quoted at auction at extreme rates, and the trade are compelled to purchase as opportunity offers, their stocks being completely exhausted.
