Latto, of the Berwick Castle, for staling, that had he (Capt. Latto) been aware that brass and other metal castings and ship's smith work in general could have been manufactured in Auckland, that when he carried away his rudder on the passage from the Falkland Islands to Hobart Town, he would at once have bore up for this port; as by so doing he would have saved much time, escaped much bad weather, and spared his owners at least oOOJ. Mr. Bourne is, therefore, desirous that the Mercantile Majine of the Southern Pacific should be made aware that all defects of such a character can be made good at the Auckland Iron and Brass Foundry. Weapons, Clothing, Implements, &c, &c, of New Zealand, and the Islands of the Pacific. Any Memento of Captain Cook, or his Voyages will be thankfully accepted. Also, Coins and Medals (Ancient and Moern). In connection with the above, there is an Industrial Museum, to exhibit— Specimens of building & ornamental Stone, " Timber for various purposes, " Clays, Sands, &c, ac, " Dyes—Tanning substances, &c, Cl Gums, Resins, &c, " Flax, Hemp, Hair, &c, &c. As it is disirable that samples of New Zealand Wool should be exhibited—sontributors are requested to send samples in duplicate, as soon as convenient, stating—the Sheep, where bred—of what breed - also the age—who contributed by. Donors arc requested to send" their contributions directed to the Honorary Secretary, at the Museum, any day in the week, except those open to the public.
