Commissariat Office, Auckland, d 4th February, 1833. will be received at this Office i until noon of Wednesday, the 9lh March next, from persons willing to Contract for furnishing the undermentioned Supplies, in such quantities, at such times, and at such places within the limits of the Town of Auckland, as maybe directed by the Undersigned, or by his Successor in Office, during the twelve Calendar Months, commencing the Ist April next, under the conditions hereafter specified, viz.:— at per lb. Fresh Meat, Bread, Mould Candles, Dip Candles, Sperm Candles, of Manufacture, Firewood, at per dOO lbs. Common Oil, at per Imperial Gallon Colton Wick, at per lb. English S' FORAGE FOR HORSES OF MOUNTED OFFICERS, AT PER RATION. The Ration to be — dOlbs. Oats dilbs. Hay 81bs. Straw. FOR HOSPITALS. Fresh Beef or Mutton, FineN Bread, Flour, Arrowroot, B Sago, Rice, Tea, Sugar, \ Oatmeal, Salt, Yellow/ Soap, Potatoes, Pearl Bar- \ ley, Mixed Vegetables, ) each at per lb. Lime Juice. Porter, Port Wine, Brandy—each, at per bottle. Milk, Vinegar—each, at per pint. Eggs, at per doz. Fowls, each. GENERAL PURPOSES. Flour, Biscuit, Tea, Sugar, Raisins, Tobacco, Salt, Soap, Mixed A r egetables, Pepper, Mustard, at per j lb., each. Oatmeal, Split Peas, Whole Peas, at per bushel of Gij pints, each. Rum, West India, 5 percent under proof, and Vinegar, at per gallon each. These Articles will, with few Exceptions, be required for Ships of v ar, ami when they are so required they are ’to be delivered (free of extra charge) in such packages as arn [usually provided for the Naval SerGENERAL CONDITIONS. d. —All the Articles to be of the best marketable quality of their several kinds. 2. —The Flour to be the produce of clean sound Wheat, from which 20 per cent in Bran has been extracted. 3. The Bread shall also be the produce of clean sound Wheat, and shall be baked 24 hours before being issued in loaves of 21hs. each. A strict observance of this condition will invariably be enforced. 4. —The Fresh Meat, to consist of Beef and Mutton, to be delivered —if so required—in the proportion of o lbs. ol Beef, and 2 lbs. of Mutton weekly. Fore and hind quarters to bo delivered alternately when the quantity permits. When Beef is issued G inches arc to be cut off the bough and neck bones. 5. —The Firewood to be Tea Tree oi* other hard wood, split and cut into lengths of four feet. The contractor for supplying Firewood must havje constantly on hand, at Auckland, in a place to he approved by the undersigned, or his Successor in office, a stock sufficient for fourteen days consumption, from which slock alone the issues are to be made. The stock to be at all limes subject to the inspection of ihe Commissariat, and all wood that is objected to at such inspection must bo immediately removed. The Wood, although paid for by weight, according to the Tender, must be delivered by measurement, and stacked for that purpose by the contractor on delivery ; 71 cubic feet being considered equivalent to a ton of 2240 lbs. G. —The Mould and Dip Candles are to be properly seasoned by being kept on hand by the Contractor for a suitable period after Manufacture. 7. —The Mixed Vegetables arc to be supplied in reasonable proportions of Greens, Onions, Ac. 8. —The Articles required for Hospitals must be comprised in one Tender, and the same rule applies to those required for Ships of War. The other articles may be tendered together or separately, but when more than one article is included in a Tender it should be staled whether it will be optional with the undersigned, to make such selections as may be thought desirable, or whether it is imperative that the whole should cither be accepted or rejected. 9. —Each Tender must be accompanied by a statement, signed by two competent persons, and expressing their readiness, in the event of the Tender being accepted, to become sureties for its due performance by entering into a Bond, the penally of which will be equal to the estimated amount of three months supplies. d 0 shall be in the power of either parly to limit the duration of the Contract by giving in writing a notice of three calendar months to the opposite parly, and to end the contract at the expiration of that period.
