RENDERS will be received at this Office, -*- until noon of Wednesday the 9th March next, from persons willing to Contract for furnishing the undermentioned Supplies in such quantities, at such times, and at such places, Within the District of the Bay of Islands, as may be directed by, or on behalf of the Undersigned, or his Successor in Office, during the twelve calendar months commencing Ist April next, viz.:— Fresh Meat, \ Bread, J Sperm Candles, of English Manu-1 lv fa ? ur f l ' Ut per lb. Dip Candles, ( * Mould Candles, I Vegetables, for ships of War or ] Transports, / Firewood, at per lOOlbs. FOR HOSPITALS. Fresh Beef or Mutton, \ Fine Bread, ] Flour, Arrowroot, Sago, / each at Rice, Tea, Sugar, > Oatmeal, Salt, Yellow Soap, i per lb. Pearl Barley, Mixed Vegetables, ] Potatoes, / Porter, Port Wine, Brandy, each at per bottle Milk, Vinegar, each at per pint Eggs, at per dozen Fowls, each. The Conditions under which the supplies will be received, are the same as those laid down in the Commissariat Advertisement inviting Tenders for the Auckland District, as it appears in this Newspaper. The Straw to be delivered at the Wahapu at such times and in such quantities as may be directed, and to be subject to the approval of the Officer or person in charge of the Barrack Department. He is prepared to conduct purchases of Produce from the Natives, assist persons entering into agreements with them, and in all other affairs in which his long acquaintance with the Natives and with their language will enable him to negotiate. Orders or instructions left at Mr. Francis White's, West Queen-street, will be attended to. npilE Undersigned Committee, appointed A at the Meeting held at the Exchange Hotel, on Monday, October 44th, are prepared to pay a reward of £SOO certain, and such further sum as the net subscriptions shall amount to (probably £SOO more) to the first person who shall discover, and make known to them a valuable gold field, situate in this district of New Zealand, between the 55° 40', and 38° of south latitude. The value of the gold field must be proved to the satisfaction of the Committee, before the reward will be paid. -Applications for the above reward to be made in writing, to the Chairman of Committee.
