Some faithful Sketches of the more favourable specimens of the Inhabitants of the interesting colony of New Zealand have long been wanted, whilst the other islands have been scarcely visited by any but the sandalwood traders. The Sketches of these Islands were made when the Author visited them in H.M.S. Fly , 1850, accompanying the Bishop of New Zealand, in the Undine schooner, on a mis sionary lour. The work is to range in size and character with “Roberts’s Spain,” “Miss Eden’s India,” &c., and will be published in Four Parts* with appropriate Letter-press.
