The Great Industrial Exhibition of 1803. Lord Naas, the Chief Secretary for Ireland, has addressed the folding letter to Mr. Roney, Secretary of the Exhibition :—" Dublin Castle, September H, 1852 : Sin—ln acknowledging the receipt of your letter of the 23rd ult., I beg to acquaint you that, in accordance with the wish expressed therein, I will be prepared to submit to Parliament early in the ensuing session a bill to extend the provisions of the Designs Act of 1830, and to give protection from piracy to persons exhibiting new inventions in the Industrial Exhibition lo be held in Dublin in 1833, The bill will be similar in its provisions to the Designs Act of 14 Vic, c. 1. lain, sir, your obedient servant, Naas." The Great Exhibition of 18:; I.—Yesterday the Dublin Exhibitors at the London Exhibition attended at the Royal Dublin Sociely-house, liiidare-street, for the purpose of leeching medals, certificates, and juror's reports. The meeting was held in the board-room of the society-house. Mr. John Classon was called to the chair. Dr. Lentaigne, one of the honorary secretaries staled there were 21 prize medals, 153 exhibitors'medals, two.jurors' certificates, eight service medals, making in all 164, awarded to persons who had sent from Dublin articles to the Great Exhibition, and there were also 21 prize certificates, 21 honorable mentions, 112 exhibitors' certificates, besides 163 jurors' reports. By this it appeared that about one in every seven exhibitors from Dublin had got prizes, about the same number honourable mentions, which, he believed was a higher amount than had been given to any portion of England. That was highly encouraging to Irish manufactures and should urge them to further exertion in regard to their own exhibition next year. He was sorry to say that three of the Exhibitors, Messrs. Sliiarpe, Panormo, and Jones, had died since the opening of the exhibition. The Chairman then proceeded to deliver lo each of the exhibitors present, a certificate medal, and a handsomely bound volume containing the. juror's report on the different departments of manufacture in the Great Exhibition of 1854. A vote of thanks was passed lo the chairman and the proceedings terminated.
