Commissariat, Auckland, 46th December, 4852. HTENDERS will be received at this Office 1 until noon of Fmnvv, the 3ist instant, from persons willing lo Contract for supplying Forage for Military Service, in the Auckland District, from Ist of February lo 31st of March, 1853. The Rations to consist of— 40 lbs. Oats. j4 Ibs Hay. 8 lbs. i3t: .<w.

The price lo be slated at per Ration. The Forage lo be delhercd by the Contractor at the quarters of the se\ oral Officers and persons entitled, at such times, and in such quantities as may be directed by the undersigned, or his successor in office. The different articles composing the Ration are lo be of the best marketable description in e>ery respect, and when a difference of opinion as to quality may arise, it is to be decided by a Board of Officers lo be appointed by the Officer in command of the Troops for the time being. Should the decision of the Board be adverse to the Contractor, he must immediately furnish other articles of a satisfactory description, or else the Commissariat will cause purchases to be made, and charge ihe expense against the Contractor. It shall be in the power of either party to limit the duration of the Contract by giving, in writing, a notice of three calendar months to ihe opposite party. Such notice to be given only from the first day of a month. No transfer of a Contract will be permitted without the previous consent of the Senior Commissariat Officer. The Contractor to prepare his account monthly, according to the usual Form, and ou producing the same, supported by proper Vouchers, will be paid in cash when the amount is under 50*., when above that sum, payment will be made by a Treasury Bill at par. Each Tender must be accompanied by a statement signed by two competent persons, and expressing their readiness in the event of the Tender being accepted, to become Sureties for its clue performance, by entering into a Bond, the penalty of which will be the same as the estimated amount of one month's supplies. The Tenders lo be in duplicate, and, when once sent in, are not lo be altered or withdrawn. Information as lo the Tender accepted shall be given as soon as Ihe decision has been made in that respect, and the Bond must then be completed without delay. Should any person who may sign a Tender, either as a proposed Contractor or as a Surely, refuse to fulfil his offer, he will be considered in future as ineligible lo act in either capacity. j Any further information, particularly with regard to the delivery of the Forage i by the Contractor, may be obtained on application at this Office.
