The numerous teams daily loading for the interior, fully realise our anticipation of the large demand for suuplies. There is also a heavy export trade now enrripd on vs itb the Southern Colony, arid so large is thf demand for the Melbourne market, tint freights hav° advanced to 50* per ton, and li'.ely to Advance still further. The arrival**, during the week, have been —Vnneira, from London ; Mohawk, from China: Al;-erine, from Javaj with numerous airivals fiom Port Phillip, including the English mini steamer Sydney—each vessel ciowded with passengers lea.—We note the ai rival of the Mohawk from China, with a cargo of hysonkin and congou, of supenor quality, this being the fust nnpoitaiion of teas of the new crop. No Miles have nsyet been m.ule, but there is every probability of (he whole cargo being taken immediately, at high iates. Iloldeis ofinfenor teas are now anxious to realise, and parcels have been offered at auction dining the week. Purchases of congou have been made to some extent, for oxpor- I tation, and there are still ciders remaining unexecuted for the southern mnil\<jls j Sugar. —Sales of Pampanga have been made nt £'22, I and there is now great difficulty in procuring good samples nt that price. 'I hp Australasian Sugar Com pany arc now the |iimunnl (if not the only) holders of iaw sugais, and in the absence of largo arrivals bare the maiket entiicly under their control. The cargo of Java sugar, ox Algeiine, was offered at public sale, and realised at from £'23 to „£27 per ton. Purchases of Pampangn sugar to a large extent have been made for exportation to New Zealand. Mauritius molasses, ox Emma, from Port Phillip, sold at £10 per ton. Coi-rEr. —At public snip Java coffee, ex Algerine, was sold at 7d. per lb. Manila is held at 7*d. to Bd. There is a demand tor exportation to all ihe neighbouring colonies. Riot. —No sales to report. We note the shipment of a quantity to the Port Phillip market. Holders are anxious to reduce stocks. Cigars. —All the recent importations having been purchased for ex pollution, left this market hut barely supplied, tinil the impoi tation per Mohnwk being chiefly to the Trade, prices are fully maintained. Spirits. —Sales of Mai toll's brandy have been made at + 12s. fid. for certificates, and holders aie nnxious to realise even at a less iate. 13. P. mm ib dull of bale at previous quoted r,ites. Cnse gin is in demand nt 21s. per case, and there is a laige demand for hallcases, for exportation. 13eer. —Sales of Uyass'a bottled alp and porter, at 1 Is 9d. per dozen. Puichnses of dmuglit ale and porter bavp been made to a large extent; nearly all the recetit impositions, as well as pmcdi to anive, have been bought up, and there is but little in liist hands.
