timber. The Moa, brig, and Marmora, schooner, boil) nrnved from Sydney on Sunday morning— the t'onnvr bavin;,' «ailed onthe 25th ult., aad the latter on tin- day previous. These vessels encountered very bad weather from the southward, just after leaving Sydney— a large number of the Moas sheep having been swept off her decks during a heavy gale on the night aftfr she nailed. The Moa exchanged signals with the Haven on Saturday evening, oft" tht> Hen and Chicken*. The William Hyde, hence the 29th September, reached Port Phillip on the 9th November. The flcLooner Eclair, arrived yesterday at Mnnukau from New Plymouth, whence f-he sailed on Saturday last. She experienced very boi«teious wenther on the coast, and more than once was in much danger of being lost. She left Wellington the 16lh Nov., and was thirteen days on the passage to New Plymouth. The St. Michael, arrived at New Plymouth on Friday last, Dec. 3., with sixty passengers for that district, nnd eight for Auckland. She had been advertised in the first instance for Auckland and New Plymouth — but eventually was despatched fiom London to toucli first at New Plymouth, and sailed from Grnvesend on the 14th July. The Eclair haa the St. Michael's mail ; it will be brought in from Onehunga this morning. The Duke of Portland, from Dn.tl the 3rd of July, arrived at Canterbury on the 2tst October. The True Briton, nhip, left Dual on th- 15th August, with detachments of the 65th and 58th Rpgimenta for Wellington and Auckland. The Simlab was advertised 10 suil from London for Auckland direct in all Augus*. The Cashmere, Captain Pearson, hence for England on the lath April, had arrived, ami was discharging her spars at the Royal Dockyard, Portsmouth. •The Berwick Castle arrived at Ho'iart Town on the 6th November, on her way from London to this port with another detachment of the Enrolled Pensioners, consiHtmg of -10 mnn, 38 women, nnd 56 rhildien Captain Reid, St,iff Ofhcer in command, Mrs. Reid, and 9 children, and Staff Surgeon Jackson, Mrs. JaoUon, and child.
The Daniel Webster sailed for Sydney yesterdny carrying away another most valuable cargo of our produce for the Australian markets. Almost every article in the manifest is in high demand at either Sydney 01 Melbourne, Bnd such encouraging profits will be realized as will no doubt bring large gain to tbef-nterprising shippers, and in a general way do good to the colony by fixing the attention of multitudes at those ports on the country from which such valuable supplies are denvpd.
