Tho lady who is spoken of as likely to hluiic the honours of the J 'residence is a granddaughter of the Ciivmd Puchesv, 1 , whoso daughter was maviied to Piince Guslavc de Vasa, the sou of the last and tho dethroned legitimate King of Sweden. The lather of tho Princess Caiolinc Stephanie do Vasa isaGenoral Ofliccr in the service of Austria. The lady was born in 1833. She is now said to be in Baden, and tlve President's, visit, arranged by the Grand Duchess, -was, we are assured, for the purpose of an interview between ! the Prince and hia fair l'd.itive. J'Yi'AU'iY at Public Bath*. — A serious accident occurred lately at one of the many public baths on the Seine. About one hundred bathers were cro" tied together on a small wooden bridge, connecting together two parts of tho bridge at the Ciuai d'Orlcaus, He St. Louis. The bridge gave and all those upon it were precipitated into the river. Six perished. Tho baths have ! been closed by the police until after a Government inspection af its construction .shall be made.
