Although the elections for the New Plymouth and Tnvanaki districts took place on the 31st of August, information as to the result has only just hcen received, — such being the uncertainties and delays connected with intercommunication-be-tween the Settlements. Mr. Charles Brown was returned without opposition for New Plymouth. The contest for the Taranaki District terminated in the return of Mr. Wickstccd. The numbers of votes were, Wickatood, 108: Richmond, 30 ; Scotland G. This concludes the Returns for the Province of Now Ulster. The Council being now numerically

complete may of couise be assembled for the despatch of business whenever the Governor may sec fit to call it together.
