Commissariat Office, Auckland, 14th September, 1852. rpENDERS will be received at this office J- until noon of Monday, the 271h instant, from persons willing to contract for supplying FORAGE for Military Service in the Auckland District, from Ist October, 1852, lo 31st March, 1853. The Ration to consist of — 1 0 lbs. Oais, 14 lbs. Hay, 8 lbs. Straw; or of 12 lbs Old Maize, A lbs. Bran, U lbs. Hay, 8 lbs. Straw. The price to be staled at per ration, for cither of the above scales, it not being indispensable that both scales should be tenj«f«d for, The Forage to be 1 afeiivbre'd by die Contractor at the quarters of the several OlfleerS and persons entitled, at such times, and in such quantities as may be directed by the undersigned, or his successor in office. The different articles composing the Ration are to be of the best marketable description in every respect, and when a difference of opinion as to quality may arise, it is to be decided by a Board of Officers to be appointed by the Officer in command of the Troops for the time being. Should the decision of the Board be adverse lo the Contractor, he must immediately furnish other arlicles of a satisfactory description, or else the Commissariat will cause purchase to be made, and charge the expense against the Contractor. It shall be in the power of either parly to limit the duration of the Contract by giving, in writing, a notice of three calendar months to the opposite party. Such notice to be given only from the first day of a monthNo transfer of a Contract will be permitted without the previous consent of the Senior Commissariat Officer. The Contractor to prepare his account monthly, according lo the usual Form, and on producing the same, supported by proper Vouchers, will be paid in cash when the amount is under £50, when above that sum, payment will be made by a Treasury Bill at par. Each Tender must be accompanied by a statement signed by two competent persons, and expressing their readiness, in the event of lhe Tender being accepted, lo become Sureties for its due performance, by entering into a Bond, the penalty of which will be the same as the estimated amount of three months supplies. The Tenders lo be in duplicate, and, when once sent in, are not to be altered or withdrawn. Information as to the Tender accepted shall be given as soon as the decision has been made in that respect, and the Bond must then be completed without delay. Should any person who may sign a Tender, either as a proposed Contractor or as a Surety, refuse to fulfil his offer, he will be considered in future as ineligible lo act in either capacity. 'TENDERS will be received at this office J- until noon of Saturday, the 251h inst., from persons willing to undertake the performance of the following sen ices, at the hired Barracks, Whapau, Bay of Islands, for one year, from Ist October, 1852, to 30lh September, 1853, viz. : Washing and Repairing Soldiers' and Hospital Bedding. Persons whose tenders may be accepted will be required to give reasonable security for the due performance of their engagements. Every particular relative lo these services may be obtained by application at the Barrack Offices, Auckland, and the Whapau, where also forms of tenders can be seen. Wai.
