CITY ELECTION. To the Independent Electors of the City of Auckland. FELLOW CITIZENS,— In consequence of an advertisement, which appeared in the ''New Zealandcr" of the 2 1st inst. Xrom the other Candidates, relative to the mode of voting, I deem it my duty to inform you, that I have refused to identify myself or be in any way connected with them. I have endeavoured Ig adhere to the mode of voting as sin led in the 51 si Clause of ihe Ordinance, and prepared my own voting papers which have been approved of by the Returning Officer ; and those of my friends who have riot yet signed, Mill bo supplied with them on the morning of Ihe election, either at my Committee Room, or at the polling places. Having principally depended on the efforts of the Working Classes for my rclurn, I am proud to say that 1 am quite sanguine as to the result. I have the honour to be, Your most obedient servant, J.
