The missionary brig John Wesley, Captain Ry\e, arrived on Wednesday morning from her cruise among the several stations in the Friendly and Feejee Islands. Since 8l»> sailed from this port on the s>6th February lust, she has visited, on tlio dates mentioned, the following islands: — March 10th, Tongataboo; 18th, Viivau ; 28ih Lifuku ; April 3rd, returned to Tonga; 15th, Lifuku; 17th, Vavnu, (where she experienced a heavy gale, and was ncaily driven ashore)} 23rd, Ninntubiitubu; 24th, Ninafou (in a heavy gale) ; May 4tli Vnvau ; l<lth, 'i'onga, from whence she soiled for the Foqjce group, and arrived at Ono on the 21«t May, but could not land in consequence of bad weather, and proceeded to Lakemba, which she reached on the ?4th; on the'27ih, Ovalau ; 29th, Vewa; June 4th, returned to Ovalou ; sth Uua, where she remained till the 13th at anchor under Cocon-nut Point in shelter from a heavy gale which blew from the Bth to the 13th from the S.E. ; 15th, TVandy; 17lh, Vavau ; July 3rd, Nandy; 6th, Busi; Nth, Lakemba; 17th, Rotumah ; 27th, Ovalnu; August 3rd, Lakemba, from whence she sailed on the 4th for Auckland, and made this coast on the 17tb, reaching hpr anchorage on the JBtb, The American vessel the Moid of Orleans, and an American schooner called the Tha Kemhau, at anchor at Vewa, were the only vessels at the islands while the Wesley was there. The Spencer, Messrs. Henderson and Macfarlnne's or g, arrived yesterday from' Melbourne, whence the sailed on the 9th inatant. The Cicely, schooner, from Manukau the 10th July, arrived at Melbourne on the 7th instant. The Glencoe, barque, had made a trip to Adelaide, with about two hundred passengers on board, and had returned to Melbourne and was laid on again for Ad.elnide. In tho Adolado Observer we find nn address which was presented to Captain Lilewall at a public dinner given to him th£re by the cabin pistengers in the Glencoe from Melbourne to Adelaide, in wh.ch they state that "fueling much pleased with your gentlemanly conduct,'!' and talent as a seamen, during a difficult and tedious passage, wo now beg your accept* arico of the accompanying Gold Watch and Chain as a token of our Kgard." The first Euglish mail summer, the Chusan, arrived at Melbourne on the evening of the 29th July. She belongs to the Peninsular and Oriental Compiiny, and soiled from England on lh« loth May — the first vessel of the Australian Company's itnOjWas to leave a fortnight after her, to Bail on the 3rd of June. . The Cbusan sailed from Port Phillip on the morning of Sunday the Ist instant, lor Sydney. The Garland, ship, from Liverpool the 26th April, with 3<S4 Government emigrants, arrived at Melbourne on the 31st July ; Castle Eden, ship, from London via Plymouth the Ist May, with 173 passengers on the mutual cooperation principle ; and the Falcon, ship, from Liverpool the 25th April, with 336 passengers, arrived on the 2nd mstoat ; and, the Coromantlel, ship, from Plymouth the 9th May, with 217 passengers, arrived on the 3rd instunt. lI. M. schooner Apollo, and the schooners, Krnpirc and UalJoy, were announced in the Argus of the 2nd August us being about to sail for New Zealand.
