TO THE ELECTORS OF THE NORTH-
ERN DIVISION.
f^i ENTLE&f EN, — Having submitted your VJT request to the Committee who were undertaking my election for the City, I have, by heir advice, decided upon accepting the invitation with which you have honoured me. In doing so, I have been partly influenced by the consideration that most of my time in New Zealand has been spent in the Northern Division, and that I have still large interests at stake in that district, and also by the fact that many of the gentlemen signing the City lequisition, ate equally inteiesied with you in my return, as electors of your Division. Gentlemen, in offering myself as a candidate to represent yo \ in the forthcoming Provincial Council, I can only repeat what 1 have aheady said— that if elected I shall go into the Council with but one object— to lepay your confidence by doing my duty independently and conscientiously. I disclaim all party feelings and prejudices, and will to the best of my ability, promote the interests of the Piovince generally, by supporting every measure calculated to advance the commercial, agricultural, social, and moral welfare of the community. I have the honour to be, Gentlemen, Your obedient servant, Thomas S. Forsaith. Queen-street. July Bth, 1852.
TO THE ELECTORS OF THE PENSIONER SETTLEMENTS.
/GENTLEMEN,— I have withdrawn the Address which I issued at the outset of my career as a Candidate for your suffrages, because there is no longer any necessity for dwelling upon the arguments they contained ; but I wish to take this special opportunity of thanking the numerous Electors who have tendered me their suffrages snd support, and to assure them that, notwithstanding the appearance of a new opponent, I shall go to the Poll with every prospect of a triumphant victory. I am, Gentlemen, Your obedient servant, W. Mason. Auckland, July 29, 1852.
