If the Boaid shall decide that the article is not of a proper quality, it must be immediately leplaced by the contractor; failing which, it will be procured by the department requiring

it, and the expense charged to the contractor. In cases where the article is of a perishable nature, or in which, from some other cause, injury would be sustained by waiting for a board of survey, the head of the department or officer in charge for whom the supplies are lobe received, shall have power to reject any article of quality inferior to the appioved sample, and to purchase others at the exp'-nse of the con-

tractor. The tenders (forms of which may be obtained of the Deputy Surveyor-General) to contain the names of the tenderers jand their places of residence at length, and to be signed by two respectable sureties, engaging to become bound in a penalty of £100 for the fulfilment of the contract, if the tender be accepted.

The articles to be delivered at the Hospital, at the expense of the contractor, and to be subject to the approval of the Colonial Surgeon as to quality. Fresh Beef or Mutton v Pork Fine Bread Potatoes Tea and Sugar Oatmeal Arrowroot at per lb. Sago Rice Salt Soap Mixed Vegetables Dip Candles Brandy, Port Wine, and 1 at per two Porter. J gallons. Milk and Vinegar, at per quart. Oil, at per gallon. Straw, at per ton of 2240 lbs.

RATIONS FOR GAOL AND LOCK-UP, AND FOR DESTITUTE PERSONS.
