Loss or the Bnrr, Two Friends. — It is our painful duty to record the Joss of the above vessel. She got under weigh from off Foit Macquarie yesterday, about two o'clock, bound to Ilobart Town, with Mr. N. Gerard, Mr. Thomas Sheridan, and Mr. J. Dunn, as passengers; and cargo; 9 bales wool, Gilchnst and Alexander; 1 case tweeds, 1 case drapery, 11 bales cottons and woollens, l parcel wearing apparel, bo cases Geneva, 20 bags oatmeal, Watkins and Dean ; CO boxes dried fruits, 50 bags vice, 53 logs cedar, J. i Macnamara; 60 casks 300 bags flour, Thomas Barker and Co.; 2 bales woollens, A. Gaskarth ; 53 packages 24 pieces cedar, Buyers and Learmonth. With a strong ebb tide, and a light wind from the eastward, she proceeded tosea; and in tacking the vessel, off the southeast side of the South Reef, about 5 p.m., she missed { stays ; the anchor was let go immediately, but the very heavy swell setting in from the south-east, drove the brig ashore in the hight between the Gap and the South Reef, where she struck heavily on the port bow. Captain Farmer, assisted by Ins crew, made every endeavour to warp the vessel off, but unfortunately their exertions proved of no avail. Captain Robson, one of the pilots stationed in Watson's Bay, put off in the whaleboat to her assistance, and Captain farmer then placed the vessel under his charge. About the same time the steamer Rose, Captain Bell, from Morpeth, was about entering the Heads and immediately proceeded towards the brig, and after two unsuccessful attempts, managed to get a wrap fast which, when the steamer moved a-head, parted. The heavy swell then breaking all round the brig, and the coast being composed of rocks, caused her to make much water, and at a quarter past six o'clock she canted over to seaward and sank in deep water, leaving only her top-gallant masts in sight. The passengers and crew came up to Sydney in the Steamer. The Two Friends was the property of Mr. Macnamara and was unia'iured.— Sydney Hemld, Nov. Early on Saturday morning, the wind sprung up from the south waid, accompanied by a. heavy swell from the south-east. This change caused the vessel to roll very much, and part of hpr deck fittings togclber with some bpaiH, weie picked up. The steamer Agenoria, with a gang of men proceeded to the wreck, for the purpose of securing any portion of the nggmg, &c, that can be got at. From the state of the wcithei it is not likely the hull of the vessel, which is entirely covered with water, will hold long together. The cargo is ne.irly all insured the greater part of which will be saved.— Two o'clock; By telegraph from South Head, we learn that the brig was afloat, and a steamer was wanted im mediately to her assistance. — Sunday Alormng. The bug's topmast heads were in sight, she is lying on a ledge of locks off South Reef.— i/cj-a/ti Dec. 1.
