Corv of a despatch fiom the Right Hon. Earl Grey> to Goveiuor Sir Ch \RLCb A. Fir/5 Roy. Downing-stieet 18th Febiuary, 1850. Sir, — With reference to my despatch of tlie 12th ultimo, respecting the subscription which w3s m course of being raised lor the purpose of assisting female emigrants to proceed to the colonies, I have the honour to inform you that I understaud that the Association for managing that subscription are about immediately to despatch the first party of icmale emigrants, \iuder their auspices, to Port Phillip, and I take the opj.ortuuity of requesting that yoa will, aa tar as may be lti your power, obtain for aiiy emigrants who may be despatched by the Association, and to whom no just objection may be taken in the coJony, the advantages ot tho same care and protection on arrival which is allowed to female emigrants despatched by the Government.—l have, &c, Grey.
