BOROUGH OF AUCKLAND.

Colonial Secretary's Office, Auckland, November 25th, 1851. HIS Excellency the Liputrnant-Govfrnor directs it to be notified for general information, that on Tuesday, the 18th instant pursuant to the Provisions of the Charter of Incorporation, the following Burgesses were elected Common Councillors of the Boiough of Auckland : — Edwin Davy, merchant, East Town Ward. Archibald Clark, draper, Middle Town Ward. Patrick Dignan, publican West Town W^rd. Frederick Ward Memman, solicitor, Suburban East Ward. Augustus B. Abraham, lawyer, Suburban fc-outh Ward. James O'Neill, settler, Suburban West Ward. Samuel Noi man, publican, Onehunga Waid. Theodore M. Haultain, staff-officer, Panmure Ward. John Annesley Hickson, staff-officer, Otahuhu Waid. Alexander McDonald, staff-officer, Howick Ward. Joseph Newman, farmer, Epsom East Ward. William Powditch, settler, Epsom West Ward. William Lines Taylor, farmer, Tamaki West Ward. William Mason, farmer, Tamaki East Ward. His ExcrLLFNCY fuither directs it to be notified that un Saturday, the 2L-nd instant, the Common Councillors of the Borough, after having taken the oath ptesciibed by law, elected Archibald Clank, draper, of the Middle Town Ward, to be the Mayor of the said Borough for the ensuing year ; and Patrick Dignan, publican, West Town Ward; J<\mes O'Neill, settler, Suburban West Ward ; William Powihtch, settler, Epsom West Ward ; William Mason, farmer, Tamaki East Ward, to be the Aldermen of the said Borough for the ensuing year. His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor having delivered the following Address, presented to the Common Council the Charter of Incorporation by which the District of Aucklahd has beeu erected into a Municipality. Private Secretary's Office, Auckland, 25th November, 1851. nnilE Lieutenant-Governor diiects it to be JL notified that, in consequence of the wanton and increasing damage done to the Shrubs and \Valks in the Grounds of Old Government House, and the insolence to which lespectable Inhabitants have recently been exposed, the admission (except during the hours the Band plays) will be through the medium of Tickets obtainable on reference to the Piivate ?ecre> tary ; and, for accommodation and recreation, the Government Gardens will be opened to the Public on Wednesdays and Sundays, from noon till sunset. NOTICE TO MARINERS. A sunken Rock, between Brown's Island and Rangitoto, about a quarter of a mile from the latter, should be avoided by vessels taking the Waiheki passage. A temporary Buoy has been placed upon the same. Magnetic bearings : — From Southern extreme of Motutapu, B.W. S. ; centre of Brown's Island, N.W. £N. ; and Peak of Rangitoto, S. E. by E. | E. Isaac J. Burgess, Acting Harbour Master.

Colonial Secretary's Office, Auckland, 24th November, 1851. HpENDERS will be received at this Office X until noon on Wednesday, the 3rd day of December, 1851, for excavating Eaith and filling in the Wharf in Commercial Bay, at per cubic yard. Further information may be obtained of the Clerk of Works, lloyal Engineer Office. By His Excellency's command, Andrew Sinclair, Colonial Secretary.

Custom House, Monganui, November 17, 1851. NOTICE is hereby given, that a Wooden Building, the proparty of Mr. William Butler, has been appointed and approved, under the 34th Section of the Customs Ordinance, 4 Vic, No. 3, 1841, for the reception of Goods under Bond at this Port. W. B. White, Sub-Collector.
