Middle Town Ward.
On Thursday evening, at eight o'clock, a numerous Meeting of Mr. Clarks Committee and supporters was held at Hardington's, Royal Exchange Hotel, when the report of the gentlemen appointed tp canvass the Ward on his behalf Avas presented, and farther arrangements were made '•with a view of promoting Mr. Clarks election. The Meeting then adjourned till Wednesday evening next. In pursuance of an advertisement issued by Mr. Williamsons Committee, calling a Meeting of the Burgesses of this Ward, there was a very numerous attendance in Thompson's Assembly "Rooms, on Thursday evening, at half-past eight o'clock Mr. G-. Jluntbr was called to the Chair. At the request of his Committee, Mr. Williamson was present to answer any questions which the Burgesses might desire to propose lelative to his views of the Charter, and the course he would adopt in the event of his election. A question having been asked by the Chairman, and another by one of the Burgesses, Mr. Williamson, on answering them, took occasion io address the
Meeting in further exposition of the views which he had Already laid before the public. His statements appeared to afford satisfaction, and were received with applause. The Meeting then separated.
