npi-IE attention of the Public is requested to -L the Several Notices attached to the various Ward Lists of Burgesses for the Borough of Auckland. Parties whose names have been omitted from the said lists, or who desire to make any objections thereto, are requested to attend at the Supreme Court, Auckland, on Satin day the 25th instant, at twelve o'clock, noon, when an adjourned Meeting of Justices of the Peace for the Borough of Auckland will be held for that purpose. EPSOM WEST WARD.
rpHE Burgesses of the Epsom West Ward JL are requested to attend a Public Meeting to be held at the Prince Albert Inn, Epsom on Monday, the 27th instant, at 3, p.m., for the purpose of taking into consideration the representation of the said Ward in Council. Joseph M\y, Chaui.es Cooun, Joseph Crisp. 20th October, 1851.
WEST TOWN WARD.
HHHE Committee appointed at the last Public JL Meeting suggest that the following questions should be put to the Candidates for the representation of this Ward in the Common Council : — 1 . — In what spirit would you accept the office — that is to say, would you enter the Council with a desire to use your best exertions for reforming any objectionable clauses in the Charter, but faithfully Avorking out the powers therein conferred, or would you adopt a line of conduct which would virtually defeat their application ? 2. — With regard to Endowments ; would you vote for the adoption of a Memorial to Her Majesty the Queen, praying for an additional annual Grant to the Corporation, from the General Revenue of the Province. 3. — Pending the answer to such Memorial, should the Corporation decide on taxation, in what shape would you propose to levy such taxation ? 4. — In the event of any motion being made to alter the Suffrage as laid down in the Charter will you vote against it, and at all times endeavour to maintain the Suffrage as it is? 5, To make the representation of the Borough more equal, would you vote for additional member for each of the three Town Wards'?
The adjourned Public Meeting will be held at the White Hart Hotel, on this evening, Wednesday, the 22nd instant, at half-past 7 o'clock. By order of the Committee, John Finlay, Chairman.
