The barque Thames left the Downs on the 13th May, nud thus has completed her pabsage to thispoit in 113 days. She experienced rough weather until she Lad rounded the Cape. She was as far south as '15°. Spoko no vessel connected with thes« colonies. This fine vessel comes as the first of a new line of packets between England and Auckland, to be laid on by Messrs. Hooper and Co., of London, in connection with the respectable firm of Bain and Burtt in this town. Every addition to our means of inlercouise with home must be hailed with gratification here ; and especially so in this instance from the well known commercial character of oui fellow-townsmen who are concerned in the new line. Captain Iledley reports the ai rival of the John Wesley in the river on the 2nd or 3rd of May. The Simlali, for (his port direct, left the St. Katheline Docks on the 24th April, and may now be daily looked for; she has on board about 120 passeners chiefly for the Southern Settlements. From tins port she will proceed to Wellington and Otago. The Cashmere for Auckland direct, was laid on to sail on 15tb June. The Dominion for Lyttelton left the Docks in company with the Thames. The Missionary Ship, the John Westxy, is reported this day at Lloyd's, as being in the Channel, yesteiday, off Plymouth. — Watchman , April 30. The Black Dog sailed from Wellington on the 18th inst. She was detained four days off Cape Palh&er by contrary winds.. She had one of her stauncheons earned away in the gale of Wednesday night. The Victoria Government brig, sailed from Wellington for Nelson and Taianaki on the night of the 10th inst. The Louis and Miriam, Pilfold, sailed for Sydney on the same day. The barque Stalely sailed from Wellington for Otago on the 3rd inst. The schooner William Alfred, Tmley, from Sydney, and the biig Halycon, Tulloch, ai rived on the 9th iust. ; and on the 13th the barque Derwent, Jardine, arrived fiom Port Victoria. The Clara had not arrived at Wellington at the date of the Black Dog's departure.
