TO CORRESPONDENTS.
The questions proposed by " Metoikos" do credit to bis ingenuity. They are very cleverly constructed so as to put in the most effective form some of the principal objections urged against the administration of the New Zealand Government. But we must decline his polite invitation to enter upon a general discussion of some of the most difficult questions in our colonial policy; —a discussion which is not called for by any immediate public necessity, and relating to topics on which, we apprehend, our acute correspondent lias already formed bis opinion. We shall, as heretofore, deal with questions of this class as occasion may arise, to the best of our ability, with a view to the interests of the community at large.
