[From the " Wellington Independent," March 22.] The barque Victory, arrived on Wednesday afternoon from Auckland. The Victory came north about, with the intention of calling at Taianaki, but wai unable to come to the anchorage, in consequence of contrary winds, and has been 13 days on the passage. The William Alf»ed, from Port Victoria, came into liarbour this morninj?, Passengers, Bishop Jackion, Lady the two Maitem Jackson, and two servants, Menrs. E. ntid C. Wilton, Mr. George M'Clenty, ■nd eight in the steerage. The Australia (Hamburgh ship) arrived at Port Cooper oa Wednesday, the 12th instant, out 15 days, with sheep, horses, and general cnrgo. The barque Robert Syers, P. Morrison, eomminder, sailed on Monday last, for London, with a cargo or colonial produce, Talued at £l 1,388 14s. Bd. It consisted of lis follows : - Wool, .£lO, 867 15s, 8d ; tallow .£6O 45.; salt hides, £93 10s. ; cow hair, £b ; bullock horns, £3 15s. ; shank bones, £2-, flax, £45-, sheep skins, £278 10s. ; curiosities, mats, &c, £43. This veisel bos met with quick despatch, which is creditable to the shippers, and speßks well for the port. A few tons of flax have been sent by this opportunity, of tarious qualities, to test it at an article for the home market, and if it is found to answer, we understand that an almost unlimited luantity of the same kinds can be supplied.

The Maria Joiepbineand Katberine Joliniton left ibi« place on Saturday alternoon and the Gofernor Grey cleared out of the river on Sunday last for Taranaki, hating the R*v. Mr. Staunard and Miv Stnnnnrd on board a& passenger!, on tbeir way to Auckland.— Wanganui correspondent of il Independent."

H.M. S. " Havannah." — This vessel of war leftthe harbour on Saturday laat for Port Davey, having his Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor and suite on board, and Mnjor-General Wynyard and suite. After landing Sir William Denuon, the Havannah will proceed to New Zetland, but will return to Hobart Town in the first week of May. During the itay of the Havaniiah here on the present occasion, the officers and crew have gained golden opinion! from all claeiesof aociety, and their departure is much regretted. Hobart lown Britannia, Feb, 24. H.M.S. Havannah, Captain Er»kine, which sailed for Wellington on the 22nd ultimo, had returned to HobartlT»wn oh Monday 3rd March, having, when abouWhalf-wty to New Zealand, sprung her fore mnd main yards, and received other damage. She had put back for repairs.

The brigantine Camilla, Burt, hence tbe 3rd Feb., arrived at Hobart Town on tbe 2lit,afier a pasiage of 18 days. Tbe Emigrant, ship, arrived alao at that port on the 15ih February, from Katpara, with a cargo of timber ; and the Daniel Webster, barque, on the 24.h February, from Wangaroa, with timber and span. Tbe Camilla wai laid on for Auckland, Wellington, and Port Cooper. Tbe Emigrant bad tailed for Adelaide; and the Daniel Webster wai to tail for Sydney on the 10th March.
