DR. DALLISTON'S LECTURE ON "CHEMISTS. V," (postponed from Tuesday, the 31st ultimo,) will be delivered on Friday Evening Next, the 1 Oth inst. Time of commencement of Lecture, eight o'clock. Members are reminded that the Door-keeper will require the production of their catds.
A PUBLIC MEETING will be held in the Hall of the Mechanics' Institute on Tuesday evening the 14th inst., to consider the expediency of establishing a Lunatic Asylum in the district of Auckland. The Chair will be taken at half-past seven o'clock. Jan. 7, 1851.

JGORRIE respectfully intimates that • his Academy will be re-opened on Monday, the 20th instant. Hours of attendance from 10 to 1, and from 2 to 4 o'clock. Branches taught, — English Reading and Grammar, Writing, Arithmetic, Geography (with the use of Maps and Globes), Mathematics, Latin, Greek, &c. N.B. — In order that pupils may reap the full benefit of a regular course of instruction, it is important that they attend at the beginning of the Session. January 7th, 1851.
