To the Editor of the New Zealander.

SIR, — As the undermentioned letter has not appeared, nor any notice of it, in to-day's paper (the Southern Cross) will you be bo kind as to give it a place iv your journal. W. F.

Friday, December 20. To the Editor of the Southern Cross.

Sir,— l must express my supriieat the very careless, or wilful mis-statements made in your last paper, Dec. F 7tr. , concerning me. lam there charged with "an utter disregard of truth," — because I had stated that the Southern Cross declined to publish my letter. On Thursday morning, not on Thursday afternoon, I handed my letter to Mr. Burn for insertion, when he stated that if the paper was not filled up with more important matter from the South, it "would be inserted." I afterwards saw Mr. Brown and told him that I had left my letter for insertion with Mr. Burn ; Mr. Brown stated that he wished I had left it with him, and said — that if it wus not long he thought there would be room for it, I again saw Mr. Burn about 5 o'clock the same day, who then (old me that it would not be inserted. Mr, Burn did not say that it would be inserted in Tuesday's paper. On Friday morning, when I called for a copy of the paper, Mr. Haniard leturned to me my letter. I then put my letter into the New Zea lander as an advertisement, stating that the Southern Cross had declined to publish or take any notice of it. Such are the facts of the case. I remain, Sir, &c, &c, W. Foksyth. Auckland, Dec. 19, 1850.
