Supreme Court — Criminal Session.

On Monday morning, Uic Cimw Jusncn took his seat, and the Giand Jury were swoin in, W. S. Graiiamk, Esq., being Foreman. But, as we intimated in our last, there was no business (o be done. No prisoner stood for tual ; the Attorney Ghnkral had no accusation to prefer ; the Grand Jury had nothing to present ; and His Honor had only the agreeable task of expressing his satisfaction at such a state of aflaii-s, and immediately dissolving the Court. We congratulate our fellow -colonists on this happy absence of ciime. It speaks trumpel-longued for the morality and general good conduct of our population. There are no Civil causes on the list for trial on Monday next. We are authorised to state that jurymen summoned for that day, will not be required to attend at the Court-house.

Mechanics' iNsnruTK. — Last evening, 11. J. Andrkws, Esq., resumed the subject of •' The Atmosphere" on which he had given an interesting Lecture on a former occasion. Other duties called us away while the Lecturer was entering with much animation into his subject, bat ue heard enough to satisfy us that the hearers might derive both entertainment and instruction from the paper. We regiettcd to see that the attendance was very scanty.
