By Hie arrival of the " Sister " Capt. Leathart, from Poverty Bay, we regret to learn the loss of several c waters on the East Coast, during a heavy North-east gule, about 3 weeks ago. By ihe losses reported, the shipping of Wellington will be most affected, three of the best Vessels of that port being n the list of casual! - ties. The fine schooner " Queen," built at Port Nicholson about 18 mouths ago, was driven ashore in Poverty Bay, and the schooner " Agne* Hay," also of Wellington, shared the same fate, in Hawkes Bay. The schooner. *•' Carbon " is alia supposed to have
foundeied during the gale, portions of her vvri -k having been cast ashore on the coast. It is fearci her crewhave gone down with her. The crews of the other vessels we are glad to learn were all saved. ■ The " Sister " which has been so long a tra'^r on the East Coast, is now to be withdrawn, and mil proceed to Sydney, in lhe course of next week. The "(Joseph Cripps" will supply her place on the coast. ' Several vessels are now overdue, and may be daily looted for. The •'Barbara Gordon" from England is now out 4 months. The "Oliver Cromwell" from Sydney; the "Fairy Queen" from Welltngton ; the "Fanny" from Honolulu, and the " Isabella" from Hobart Town, are also due.
