To the Editor of the New Zealander. Sir, — 1 am pleased to hear a better interpretation put upon the motive for nUeiing the first arrangement for the Masonic Return Ball ; but I was not the only one of the opinion expressed to you on the 3 1st ultimo. Howerer, I have been favoured this morning with an advertisement in the Southern Cross, and I beg to inform those of the Committee who inserted it, that I don't intend to gratify them with the withdrawal of my name. Of the spirit and insinuation of the advertisement I will leave others to judge. I am, yours, &c, Z. August 2, 1850.
