WHEREAS the undermentioned Ordinance, enacted by the LieutenantGoveinor of New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, was passed in the eleventh year of the Reign of Ilei Majesty Queen Victoria, viz.—" An Ordinance to authorize the establishment of a Colonial Bank of Issue by the Government of New Zealand, to make and issue a Paper Curiency,aivl to piohibit the making and issuing of Papei Money by private individuals," Sess. 8, which Ordinance having by the Right Honorable Eail Ghey, one of Her Majesty's Principal Secretaries of "Mate, been laid before the Queen, Her Majesty lias been graciously pleased to confirm and allow the same. Now, therefoie I, the Governor-in-Chief of New Zealand, do heieby proclaim and make known to all whom it may concern, that Her Majesty has been graciously pleased to confirm and allow the befoie mentioned Ordinance. Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Islands of New Zealand, at Government House, at Auckland, in the Province of New Ulster, this twelfth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty. WHEREAS, by an Ordinance enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor of New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, Session 8, No, 16, intituled (f An Ordinance to authorize the establishment of a Colonial Bank of Issue by the Government of New Zealand, to make and issue a Paper Currency, and to prohibit the making and issuing of Paper Money by private individuals," it is amongst other things enacted, that the business of and relating to the issue of the Notes of the said Bank shall be conducted and carried on in offices to be established for that purpose at Auckland and Wellington, and ', at such other places as the Governor shall di« lect, and that every such office shall lie open for business on such days and at such hours as j the Governor for the time being shall in that behalf by Proclamation appoint: and whereas Offices of the Colonial Bank of Issue have been established at Auckland and Wellington. Now, I, the Governor do hereby proclaim and appoint that the said Offices will be opened on the third day of June, one thousand eight hundred and fifty, and that such offices will open for business on all days but Saturday and Sunday, from ten o'clock until three o'clock, and on Saturday from ten o'clock until two o'clocV. t Given under my Hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Islands of New Zealand, at Government House at Auckland, in the Province of New Ulster, on this 1 2th day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty. Civil Secretary's Office, Auckland, April 13, 1850. BIS Excellency the Governor-in-Chief has been pleased to appoint the following Gentlemen to be Commissioners in accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance entitled " the Paper Currency Ordinance," to ascertain and certify the average amount of Notes of the Union Bank of Australia, which were in circulation during the two years preceding the Ist day of July, 1847, so far as relates to the Branches of the said Bank in the Province of New Munster, viz : — Alfred Domett, Esq., Colonial Secretary, Hon. H. Petre, Colonial Treasurer," Godfrey John Thomas, Esquire, Auditor General, of the Province of New Munster. By His Excellency's Command, C. A. Dillon, Civil Secretary.
