Depasturing on Crown Lands. — Election of Wardens.
In accordance with the notice issued by the Commissioner of Crown Lands, the holders of Depasturing Licenses in the Hundred of One* hunga met at that village on Wednesday last, when the following persons were chosen to fill the office of Wardens for the ensuing year, under the provisions of the Crown Lands Ordinance, passed last session of the Legislative Council : — Messrs. William Powditch, Thomas Somerville, and James Magee. On Thursday the License holders of the Hundred of Auckland assembled at the Court House, and appointed the following Wardens : Major Matson, Messrs. Gejrge Nicoll, and William Foster. After the election of the Auckland Wardens, the Commissioner read the following Memorandum, which we insert as a comprehensive and valuable digest of the duties imposed and the honours confeired on Wardens by the Ordinance. Its careful perusal will we doubt not prove useful for the information and guidance of the holders of depasturing licenses also.
