AUCKLAND ANNUAL CONTRACTS. Commissariat Office, Auckland, 18th January, 1850. TENDERS will be leceived at this Office, until noon of Fridvy, the Ist day of March next, for furnishing the undermentioned supplies, in such quantities, at such times, and at such places, within the limits of the Town of Auckland, as may be directed by the Undersigned, or by his successor in office, during the twelve calendar months commencing Ist April, 1 850, under the conditions hereafter specified, viz : — BREAD, at per Ib. Firewood, at per 100 lbs. Mould Candles, at per lb. Dip Candles, at per lb. Common Oil, at per Imperial gallon Cotton Wick, at per lb.

CONDITIONS. 1 . — All the articles to be of the best quality of their several kinds. 2. — The Flour to be the produce of clean sound Colonial Wheat, from which 20 per cent in Bran has been extracted. 3. — The Bread to be made from Flour of the same quality as described in the preceding paragraph, and to be baked 24 hour 3 before being issued, in loaves of 21bs. each. 4. — The Firewood to be exclusively of Tea Tree, or other hard wood, split, and cut into lengths of 4 feet. 5. — The Mixed Vegetables to be supplied in reasonable proportions of Greens, Onions, &c. Mode of Den very* 6. — The supplies required shall be delivered by the Contractor direct to the person or persons entitled thereto, on the order of the Senior Commissariat Officer, or of any person to be deputed by him for that purpose.

GENERAL CONDITIONS. 7. — Each Tender must be accompanied by a statement, signed by competent persons, and expressing their readiness, in the event of the Tender being accepted, to become sureties for its due performance by entering into a Bond, the penalty of which will be equal to the estimated amount of three months supplies. 8.- — The Contractor for Firewood must have constantly on hand at Auckland, a stock sufficient for fourteen days' consumption, from •which alone the issues are to be made. The stock to be at all times subject to the inspectioo of the Commissariat, and all wood objected to at such inspection, must be immediately removed. The wood, although paid for by v eight, according to the tender, must be delivered by measurement, and stacked for that purpose by the Contractor on delivery, 71 r.ubic feet being considered equivalent to 2240 lbs. 9. — The articles required for Hospitals must be comprised in one Tender, and the same rule applies to those required for ships of war, the other articles may be tendered together or separately. 10. — The Contractor to prepare his own account monthly, according to the prescribed form, and on producing the same with the requisite vouchers, in a complete state at this office, he will receive payment by means of a Bill upon the Lords Commissioners of Her i Majesty's Treasury, at par, when the amount due exceeds £50, — when under that amount payment will be made in cash. 1 1. — It shall be in the power of either party to limit the duration of the Contract by giving in writing a notice of three Calendar months to the opposite party, and to end the contract at the expiration of that period. Such notice to be given only from the first day ot a month, and within the period for which the contract is made, or agreed to be made. 12. — When supplies are objected to by the person to whom they are tendered, they are to be submitted to a Board of Survey, according to the custom of the service, (Naval or Military, as the case may be), and if rejected by the Board, other supplies of a more satisfactory nature are to be immediately substituted, or else the Commissariat Department will cause purchases to be made, and charge the expense against the Contractor. 13. — Contractors must be prepared to supply whatever may be demanded by the Commissariat, without reference to the service for
