Such notice to be given only from the first day ot a month, and within the period for which the contract is made, or agreed to be made. 12. — 'W.ien supplies are objected to Ly the person to whom they are tendered, they a?o 10 be submitted to a Board of Survey, aocording to the custom of the wi-vi^o, (Naval or Military, as the case may be), and if rejected by the Board, other supplies of a more satisfactoiy nature are to be immediately substituted, or else the Commissariat Department will cause purchases to be made, and charge the expense against the Contractor. 13. — Contractors must be prepared to supply whatever may be demanded by the Commissariat, without reference to the service for which the supplies may be requiied, whether Military, Naval, or any other.
Each Tender to be in duplicate, sealed, and endorsed " Tender for Annual Supplies at Auckland." A Tender once sent in, cannot be withdrawn or altered. Information as to what Tenders have been accepted, will be given within three days of the time appointed for opening them, and the Bond must then be completed without delay. Should any person who may sign a Tender, either as a proposed Contractor or as a Surety, refuse to fulfil his offer on any unsatisfactory excuse, he will be considered inelligible in future to act in either capacity. Commissariat Office, Auckland, 18th January, 1850. npENDERS will be received at thisJMce, JL until noon of Friday, the Ist day of March next, for furnishing the undermentioned Supplies in such quantities, at such times, and at such places, within the district of ihe Bay of Islands, as may be directed by, or on behalf, of the undersigned, or his successor in Office, during the Twelve calendar months, commencing Ist April, 1850 :—: — Fresh Meat, at per Ib. Bread, at per Ib. FireAvood at per 100 lbs. Mould Candles, at per Ib. Dip ditto at per Ib. Vegetables, (for Ships of War or Transpoits), at per Ib.
FOll HOSPITALS. Fresh Beef or Mutton, ") Fine Bread, 1 Flour, Arrowroot, Sago, I each at Rice, Tea, Sugar, }■ Oatmeal, Salt, Yellow Soap, per ft>. Pearl Barley, Mixed Vegetables, | Potatoes, J Porter, Port Wine, Brandy, each at per bottle. Milk, Vinegar, each at per pint. Eggs, at per dozen. Fowls, each.
The Conditions under which the supplies will be received, are the same as those laid down in the Commissariat Advertisement inviting Tenders for the Auckland District, as it appears in this Newspaper with the following addition :—: — The Fresh Meat to consist of Beef or Mutton, and, if required, to be in the proportion of 5 lbs. of Beef and 2 lbs. of Mutton weekly — in fore and hind quarters alternately. When Beef is issued six inches are to be cut off the Hough and Neck Bones. Philip Turner, Assistant Commissary General.

The Straw must be delivered at such times and places, and in such quantites as may be directed by the Barrack Master, to whose approval the same is to be subject.
