The /♦SAiiUEL Enderby."— This barque, 395 tons, Captain Henderson, is now lying off Brown's River, bat will iraraedietely leave for the Auckland Islauds, her original destination. Charles Enderby, Eiq. came to town this morning 1 to order some necessaries for the resiel, and who states that the Auckland Island Company hare sent this vessel with 40 mechanics and their families, for the purpose of forming a new Colony ; two other vessels— the Fanny and the Brisk, left Plymouth the? same time, 17th August. The Admiralty have decided that * man-of-war shall touch at the settlement once a' montb. The Islands are situated in 51 south 166 east. Mr. Enderby is the Chief Commissioner of the* Company, and has been appointed by tha Queen Lieutenant - Governor of the Islands, independent of all other colonies*— Cotonia/ Times, Not. 20.

The Expedition in Sbarch of Sir John Frank, lin.— The following paragon from the Montreal Gazette, will be read with interest. There can now be little doubt concerning the fate of Sir John Franklin and his crew • — " Letters were received yes'erday from the Hudson's Bay territory, by way of Sault St. Maria, I) ring intelligence from Fort Simpson, of date 4th of October last : the writer of a Jetter from that fort says that 'eighteen men of the expedition arrired here yesterday, sent from Forte Confidence, to be kept during the winter ; and at a packet from Sir Joha Kichardion is to go on direct to Canada, I take the opportunity to tend you a few lines. They went round from the Mouth of the M'Kenzie to the Coppermine, but no restige or word of Sir John Franxlin or of any one elsu except Eiquimaux, whom they saw in large numben. A very large party of theie daring raicalt met the expedition at the mouth of the M'Kenzie, and as on a former occasion, wanted to make a prize of the boats, and all that was in them ; but nothing serious happened. Sir John is to proceed to Canada as soon as the M'Kenzie break* up next spring. Rae ii going with one boat again to the coait.' "
