R A C I NG. A GREY HORSE to be run for on the 30th instant, by six Untried Horses. Entrance £2 2s. Horses to be entered on or before the 25th instant. Goodfellow, • begs most respectfully to return thanks to the Gentry end Public of Auckland, for the very liberal patronage and recommendation he has .received since his commencement in business, and at the same time begs to state nothing shall be wanting on his part towards meriting a continuance thereof at the new and commodious premises to which he has removed, next to the Court House. NEW GENERAL STORE JUST OPENED IN SHORTLAND STREET, (Opposite the Royal Exchange Hotel.) jHRANCIS EVANS has much -■- pleasure in announcing to his numerous friends, and the Public of Auckland, Kawau, and the surrounding districts, that he has just opened a Store as above, where with the assistance of their patronage, he intends to conduct an extensive business as a GENERAL DEALER. His STOCK of GOO D S, to which he would now call the attention of Housekeepers in the Town as well as of Country Settlers, is of a very varied but exceedingly useful character, comprising almost every necessary article in Groceries, Hardware, Crockery, and Glass ware, Tin ware, Drapery Goods, Ready Made Clothing, as well as a selection of Miscellaneous j Stores well chosen and adapted to supply the demands of every customer. A large supply of Excellent Po tatoes, Hams, Bacon, &c, &c , expected daily from the Coast, of which a constant supply will be kept up ; — also, Fre^h Eggs and Butter. Country orders will be thankfully received and punctually attended to. Auckland, Oct. I, 1849.
