The Kiwi has discharged part of her timber, and ii beached at Mechanics' Bay, near Mr. Nicols ship building yard, where what little ii neceisary to complete and render her seaworthy will be performed, before ihe departs on her first voyage. The Maukin and Kiwi will tail on the same day for Cali ornia. The Oriental Queen will not sail before Wednesday. Her m^il is poitponed until Tuesday, and she will positively lail the follomng morniig.
The Moa has been brought up, and moored off Commercial Bay, in order to have her masts put in, and rigging set up. The brigs Louis and Miriam from Sydney ; and the Enterprise from Port Nicholson, may be hourly expected. The brig Richard Dait is now long overdue, it being 197 da s since she sailfd from Deal, (on the 6th April,) for this part. It is thought that she may hate mstained damage at sea, and been obliged to put in lomewhere for repairs; but fears are beginning to be generally entertained lor her safety. Notice to Mariners —Hitherto the rig only of vessels entering the port of Auckland has been indicated at the flag- staff; but the siguai-man having been lately supplied with Marjatt's Code, it it announced in the last Government Gazette that on and after the first day of November, 1819, communications from vessels approaching Auckland, their names or numbers, and any other inieliigence conveyed by means of Maryat's signals will be repeated by Hhrs of the same code at the signal station on Mount Victotoria (a hill, appearing from sea, a short distance to the right of the North Head), and so conveyed to Auckland.
Mails will be made up at the General Post Office, as follows :—: — For Mauritius, India, and England, by the Oriental Queen, on Tuesday the 23rd imt., at noon. For Sydney, London, &c, by the Josephine, on Saturday, This Day, at noon.
