The Susan Bailed yesterday afternoon for Sydney, with several passengers, incleding invalids of the 58th llegt., part of cargo consisted of about 100 tons copper ore. The Inchfnnan will resume her voyage for San Franciico this clay at noon. The Pilgrim was advertised in the Wellington papers to return to that port to complete her cargo for London. Owing, however, to the Inchinnan being quite full from Sydney, and unable to take in a laige quan« tity of cargo awaiting her here, ths Pilgrim has been chartered to proceed to California with a full cargo of timber, and other New Zealand produce, .from this poit. By the Edwaid, schooner, from Russell, we learn from our correspondent, that the whaler Pembroke, of New London, out forty days from HobartTown, had put in at the Bay of Islands, in consequence of the crew having mutinied at sea ; fourteen of them were in irons on her arrival. It was said that she would sail for Auckland within a fewjdays, and, instead of resuming her whaling cruise, would be laid on for California.
The Acheron arrived off Knpiti on Wednesday evening, having completed her survey of the line of coast from Banks's Peniniula to Queen Charlotte's Sound on the Southern Island. We understand that a magnificent harbour lias been discoveied by Captain Stokes to the South of Queen Charlotte's Sound.— Wellington Spectator, September 8.
