The Maukin left Sydney on Saturday, the 25th of August, and has been thirteen days on the passage down. She is now commanded by Captain Jackion, formerly pilot at Sydney, Captain Hughes, her la'e commander, having been uppointed to the new bripr belonging to tlie same owners, Messrs. Wright and Grahame, now nearly r^ady for launching at Mechanic's Bay. The Inchinuan'fi time of sailing had been postponed to the ltt instant, owing to the intelligence received by the Despatch and William Hill. The Madawanka, ship, of 561 tons, Captain M'Kinnell, was laid on for Auckland, and wri advertised to be ready to take in cargo on the l»t instant. The ship Wiliam Hyde was laid on for London, to call at Hokianga to tike in limber for England. The William Hill, brig, had airived in Sydney, from California, on the 18th ult., and the Sir John Franklin, Captain Lillewal, from the Fejee I&landi and New Caledonia on the 22nd ultimo. The Sir John Franklin reports the cutter Sylph at having- ariived at tlie Ftjee Islauds after a favourable passngc of twelve days, hence. The schooner Minem, BirkensbawAand cuttet Marys, sailed from the Fe jee Islands in company with the Sir John Franklin for the north west end of New Caledonia, where a bechc-la-mer station has been established on account of Mr. FitzG|eraM, of Auckland. The former vessel had arrived prior to her sailing for this port, but the latter had not. The American barque Zotoff was at the Feejee Llauds, obtaining liea/ie la-mer.-— Sydney Heiald, Aug. 23.
