The Marys left Hawke's Bay on the sth July, and had boisterous weather off the Ea»t Cape, a» well as during her passage to this port. The brig Patriot, Captain McGrath, of whose wreck we gave notice last week, went ashore on the morning of the 12th June. She was a Kobart Town whaler, aud had been whaling at Hawke's Bay— wb«u the CHtnstrophe happened sbe had 150 barrels of oil on board, all of wblh had been saved as well at her stores, and the greater part of her rigging. Her hull is now high »nd dry at Hiwke'i Bay, but very much damage. The Captain was sti'l with the remains of his vtgiel when the Marys left. One man was killed by a ipar falling upon him, aftei the brig had gone ashore. The Victoria since ihe aaiied from Auck'and in June has Tisited Wellington, Nelson, and Tartnaki. The matter of the Acheron proceeded in her to Taranaki, where he was engaged gurtryini; the roadstead of New Plymouth. The Victoria. s»iled from Wellington on Thursday week, at which time there were in the harbour the Mariner tnt 1 the General Palmer, which latter had put in there in a leaky condition bound from Port Phillip to London. The Acheron was still in the harbour of Port Nicho'sen, and it was expected she would ■ail for Auckland about the end of this month.
The Mails for Sydney and London, by the Mary Catherine, will be closed at 4 p.m., (bit day.
