One of the verandahs wai formed into a laloon decorated with flags and evergreeus, with stars of bayonets and swords neatly arranged, and floral deviceaoftho royal initials. One hundred and twentrr six men tat down to a substantial dinner provided for the occasion, and in tbe afternoon about thirty picked men who had been in New Zealand, in the costume of the country, blankets and rugs, held a palaver or cor* roborie on the parade ground. They were armed with muskets and spears, and many had their faces painted in imitation of their former tattooed antagonists.
