ANNUAL CONTRACTS.
Commissariat Office, Auckland, 24th January, 1849. TENDERS will be received at this Office, until noon of Thursday, the Ist day of March, for furnishing the undermentioned supplies, in such quantities, at such times, and at such places, within the limits of the Town of Auckland, as may be directed by the Undersigned, or by his successor in office, during the twelve calendar months commencing Ist April, 1849, under the conditions hereafter specified, viz: — B R E A D, at per Ib. Rum, (duty being paid by contractor,) at per gallon Firewood, at per 100 lbs. Mould Candles, at per ft>. j Dip Candles, at per Ib. Common Oil, at per Imperial gallon Cotton Wick, at per Ib. FOR HOSPITALS. Fresh Beef or Mutton, Fine Bread, Flour, Arrowroot, Sago, Rice, j each Tea, Sugar, Oatmeal, Salt, } at Yellow Soap, Pearl Barley, | per ft). Mixed Vegetables, Potatoes. J Porter, Port Wine, Brandy— each, at per bottle. Milk, Vinegar— each, at per pint. Eggs— at per dozen. Fowls — each GENERAL PURPOSES. Flour, Biscuit, Tea, Sugar, "| These articles will, Tobacco, Salt, Soap, with few exceptions. CONDITIONS. 1. All the articles to be of the best quality of their several kinds. 2. The Flour to be the produce of clean sound Colonial Wheat, from which 20 per cent in Bran has been extracted. 3. The Bread to be made from Flour of the same quality as described in the preceding paragraph, and to be baked 24 hours before being issued, in loaves of 2ft>s. each. 4. The Rum to be West India, and 5 per cent Under proof. 5. The Firewood to be exclusively of Tea Tree, or other hard wood, split, and cut into lengths of four feet. * 6. The Mixed Vegetables to be supplied in' reasonable proportions of Greens, Onions, &c, MODE OF DELIVERY. 7. The supplies required will not be taken into the charge of the Commissariat but are to be delivered by the Contractor direct to the' person or persons entitled thereto, on the order of the Senior Commissariat Officer, or of any person to be deputed by him for that purpose.
