NELSON COLLEGE FUND.
THE COMMITTEE, appointed by a Meeting of Landowners to consider and report on the best mode of employing the Trust Funds accruing from the sale of Lands in the Nelson settlement, are desirous of obtaining information on the subject of Establishing a College, or Superior School, for the Education of Youth, being one of the special objects provided for, in the original scheme for founding the set • tlement. With a view of carrying out' their object in the most effectual manner, and with a- deep sense of the importance of the duty devolved upon them, the Committee are anxious to receive, (with as little delay as may be practicable), written communications on the details of the subject from any gentlemen whose feelings and pursuits have , induced particular inquiries into the question. In order to place some limit to the practical .it^ms of the scheme for the establishment of the Institution, it is necessary to state that the income about to become available for the purpose, will not probably e.xceed £800 per annum. Letters to be addressed to " the Chairman of the Nelson Trust Funds Committee, Wakatu Hotel, Nelson." Nelson, Dec. 21st, 1848.
