ANNUAL CONTRACTS.

Commissariat Office, Auckland, 24th January, 1 849. npENDERS will be received at this Office, I until noon of Thursday, the Ist day of March,for furnishing the undermentioned supplies, in such quantities, at such times, and at such places, within the limits of the Town of Auckland, as may be directed by the Undersigned, or by his successor in office, during the twelve calendar months commencing Ist Apiil, 1849, under the conditions heteafter specified, Viz : — BREAD, at per Ib. GENERAL PURPOSES. CONDITIONS. 1. All the articles to be of the best quality of their several kinds. 2. The Flour to be the produce of clean sound Colonial Wheat, from which 20 ' per cent in Bran has been extracted. 3. The Bread to be made from Flour of the same quality as described in the preceding paragraph, and to be baked 24 hours before being issued, in loaves of 2 lbs. each. 4. The Rum to be West India, and 5 per cent under proof. 5. The Firewood to be exclusively of Tea Tree, or other hard wood, split, and cut into lengths of four feet. 6. The Mixed Vegetables to be supplied m reasonable proportions of Greens, Onions, &c. MODE OF DELIVERY. 1. The supplies required will not be taken into the charge of the Commissariat but are to be delivered by the Contractor direct to the person or persons entitled thereto, on the order of the Senior Commissariat Officer, or of any person to be deputed by him for that purpose.

GENERAL CONDITIONS.

8. Each Tender must be accompanied by a statement, signed by two competent persons, and expressing their readiness, in the event of the Tender being accepted, to become sureties for its due performance by entering into a Bond, the penalty of which will be equal to the estimated amount of three months supplies. 9. The Contractor for Firewood must have constantly on hand at Auckland a stock sufficient for fourteen days' consumption, from which alone the issues are to be made. The btock to be at all times subject to the inspection of the Commissariat, and all wood ob • jected to at such inspection as not being of a proper description must be immediately removed. The wood, although paid for by weight, according to the Tender, must be delivered by measurement, and stacked for that purpose by the Contractor on delivery — 71 cubic feet being considered as equivalent to
