Board other supplies of a satisfactory nature are to be immediately substituted, or else the Commissariat Department will cause purchases to be made, and charge the expense against the Contractor. 14. Contractors must be prepared to supply whatever may be demanded by the Commissariat, without reference to the service for which the supplies may be required — whether Military, Naval, or any other.
Each tender to be in duplicate, sealed, and endorsed, " Tender for Annual Supplies, Auckland." # ? A Tender once sent in cannot be withdrawn or altered, and on sufficient evidence being afforded, that the proposed suretiesn are satisfactory, the Bond must be completed without delay. Information as to what Tenders have been accepted, will be given within three days of the time appointed for opening them. Should any person who may sign a Tender, either as a proposed Contractor or Surety, refuse to fulfil his offer on any unsatisfactory excuse, he will be considered ineligible in future to act in either capacity. BAY OF ISLANDS, ANNUAL CONTRACTS.
Commissariat Office, Auckland, January 24, 1849. TENDERS will be received at this Office, until noon of Thursday, the Ist day of March, for furnishing the undermentioned Supplies in such quantities, at such times, and at such places, within the district of the Bay of Islands, as may be directed by, or on behalf, of the undersigned or his successor in Office, during the Twelve calendar months, commencing Ist April, 1849 :— • Fresh Meat, at per tt>. Bread, at per ft). Rum, (duty to be paid by Contracter), at per gallon Firewood, at per 100 lbs. Mould Candles, at per ft. Dip Candles, at per ft). Vegetables, (for Ships of War or Transports), at per ft).
FOR HOSPITALS.
Fresh Beef or Mutton ' Fine Bread Flour, Arrowroot, Sago each at Kice, Tea, Sugar Oatmeal, Salt, Yellow Soap per Ib. Pearl Barley, Mixed Vegetables Potatoes Porter, Port Wine, Brandy, each at per bottle Milk, Vinegar, each at per pint Eggs, at per dozen Fowls, each The Conditions under which the supplies will be received, are the same as those laid down in the Commissariat Advertisement inviting Tenders for the Auckland District, as it appears in this Newspaper, with the following addition :—: — The Fresh Meat to be issued Daily, in Fore acd Hind Quarters alternately — when the quantity admits of it. TENDERS will be received at this Office, until noon of Thursday next, for furnishing such quanties of STRAW as may from time to time be required by the Barrack Department at Auckland — and also at the Bay of Islands — during the 12 months, ending 31st March, 1850. The Straw to be subject to the approval of the Barrack Department, and to be delivered by the Contractor at such places as may be pointed out, payment being made by an Ordnance Draft on the Commissariat Chest.
