EVEN.
T. K. would beg to state that he has opened a correspondence with England, and that the above is the first shipment to his order, which will be followed by others, so as to keep up a continuous and well selected stock of English work of the best description. He would call particular attention to the Wellington Boots, as being far superior, both as to fashion and finish, to any hitherto imported ; and need hardly remind hfe customers, the inhabitants of Auckland and its vicinity, that at his establishment can be had any description* of work of his own manufacture, from the Top Boot to the Child's Shoe. A large and varied assortment always on hand. Jan. 23, 1849.
NELSON COLLEGE FUND.
THE COMMITTEE, appointed by a Meeting of Landowners to consider and report on the best mode of employing the Trust Funds accruing from the sale of Lands in the Nelson settlement, are desirous of obtaining informal tion on the subject of Establishing a College, or Superior School, for the Education of Youth, being one of the special objects provided for, in the original scheme for founding the set • tlement. With a view of carrying out their object in the most effectual manner, and with a deep sense of the importance of the duty devolved upon them, the Committee are anxious to receive, (with as little delsty as may be practicable), written communications on the details of the subject from any gentlemen whose feelings and pursuits have induced particular inquiries into the question. In order to place some limit to the practical items of the scheme for the establishment of the Institution, it is necessary to state that the income about to become available for the purpose, will not probably exceed 4JBOO per annum. Letters to be addressed to " the Chairman of the Nelson Trust Funds Committee, Wakatu Hotel, Nelson." Nelson, Dec. 21st, 1848.
