NEW ZEALAND MAGAZINE.
XT is in contemplation to publish, at an early day, the first Number of a Quarterly Periodical, entitled the " New Zealand Magazine" to be devoted to Politics, Science, and Light Literature. Having been projected with the view of inviting a free and unprejudiced discussion of such measures as affect the interests of the Colonists generally, its columns will be open to the contiibutions of all who are desirous of recording their ideas, and of offering to the public the value of their opinions on the subjects introduced. The publication, it is conceived, will also Ibe useful as a means of advancing the colony, by bringing to light its hidden resources, through the instrumentality of those whose researches and pursuits enable them to add materially to what is already known of the capabilities of the New Zealand Islands. And, in order to vary as much as possible the character of the periodical, and to render its perusal palatable to the general reader, its third section will be set apart for the introduction of light and amusing Tales, Sketches, &c. In size the " New Zealand Magazine" will "be much the same as those now circulating at home, each number to consist of one hundred pages of printed matter. The Subscription •will be One Guinea per annum, Six Months payable in advewe:. All communications from contributors and subscribers at Auckland, to be addressed to the Editor, care of Messrs. Connell and Ridings, who have undertaken the agency of the work, and to whom all subscriptions are to bp paid. A general Advertiser will be attached to the Magaaine, and will for the present be upon the same scale of charges as those adopted by the local Newspapers.
