AUCKLAND AND NEW ULSTER AGRICULTURAL AND HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY. AT A MEETING of the Committee of this Society, held at the Masonic Hotel, on Wednesday, the 10th January, instant, Major Matson in the chair, — it was resolved that on Tuesday, the 6th March next, an exhibition of Stock, and Farm produce, Fruit, Flowers, and Vegetables, should take place ; when prizes will be awarded for the best thorough bred Stallion, best cart do., best thorough bred Mare, best cart do. ; best New Ulster bred Bull of any age, best N. U. bred Yearling Bull, best N. U. bred Cow of any age, best N. U. bred Heifer ; best Boar, best Sow, best bacon Pig ; best long wooled Ram, best Merino do., best South Down do., best pen long wooled Ewes, not ]ess than 3, best Merino do., do., best South Down do., do., best pen of Lambs ; best Plough and pair of Horses, best Plough and team of Bullocks ; best 2 bushels N. U. Wheat, best 2 bushels N. U. Barley, best 2 bushels N. U. Oats, best 2 bushels of N. U. Grass Seed, best sample of Cultivated Flax, Phormium tenax ; best N. U. Cheese, not less than lOlbs. best N. U. Grape Wine, not less than 6 bottles, best N. U. brewed Beer, not less than 2 gal lons, bett N. U. Honey, not less than slbs., best N. U. made Bees Wax, not less than slbs., best N. U. Cauliflower, Cabbage, Peas, Beans, and Rhubarb. The rate of prizes will depend on the amount of subscriptions, and will, with further paiticulars, be made known previous to the Exhibition. The Committee will not engage to bestow a prize in any case when there is no competition for it.
