AMERICA. FIRE AT PHILADELPHIA:

Last night, about eleven o'clock, fire wai discovered in the extensive stuam mahogany and marble and turning e.t.blishment of T. and L. Thompson, at the junction of R.dge Road and Eleventh and Pleasant Streets, Spring Garden, which, toother with the machinery, tools, material, &c, was entiiely destroyed. The buildings were three in number, lour stories high, filled throughout with work and valuable stock, all of which weic burnt entirely out, und a part of the walls ot brick broken aud completely demolished. The adjoining ihree«iitory dwelling, owned and occupied by Mr. T. Thompson, was greatly injured in the rear by the falling of the wall ot that part of the works flouting ou Kluventh Street. j§Be-ide the great destruc ion of the property of the Aleisn. Thompson, William and Joseph Allen, of 119; Spruce-itreel, cabinet-maker*, who occupied the ihi.d aud fouith ttoiiei of the largest Ituildmg for naumiliicturing cabinet ware, have lo»t a large amount ot work nraily h'nibhed, materials, and fixtures. Upon one of theie there WiU a cupola and a bell, and it is stated that the boll was kept ringing until the cupola wfti deitwjed.

The entire lost by this fire it very great. Messrs. Thompson are insured for five or six thousand dollarfl, but they estimate their lost, neveitueless, at from thiity to thirty hve thousand. The Me srs. Allen wtre not insured, and arc supposed to be loser* to the amount of three or four thousand dollars. The public school-houses and the furniture and fixtures weie insured sufficiency, it is stated, to cover the loss, win cli it is thought will not be less than six |or eight thomand dollars, — Philadelphia Eoening Bulletin, May 20.
